Here at Grabloader, we have been helping customers dispose of waste for more than 20 years. We have compiled answers to some of the most common questions our team is asked – including the answer to just how much waste material we recycle.
What recycled aggregates are available to buy?
You can buy sand, crushed concrete and shingle by the bag, load or tonne – all of which has been recycled from materials we collect from other customers. These recycled materials are ideal for projects including building a new patio, drainage work and laying a driveway, with the added benefit of reducing the amount of material that goes to landfill.
How do I know your topsoil is good for my garden?
We thoroughly screen our topsoil to ensure it is top quality. Our “A” soil is screened to 10mm, our “B” grade soil is screened to 20mm. The standards we follow mean that our “A” topsoil is certified as “a good general purpose soil”, perfect for planting borders, filling pots or seeding a lawn. Our “B” soil is a cheaper, great way for building up levels before putting our “A” grade soil on top.
For keen gardeners, we also supply organic soil conditioner, a peat-free, locally sourced compost that’s great for every garden. Like our recycled aggregates, topsoil can be purchased by the bag, load or tonne depending on your project.
Why is grab hire better than skip hire?
If you want to dispose of waste material fast, grab hire is the best option. Instead of waiting for a skip to be taken away, your waste will be quickly loaded onto our truck and removed immediately, freeing up space on site. This also means you don’t have to fill a skip yourself, as you can simply place waste materials in an accessible spot ready for our team to load the truck – saving you time.
You will also save money because you won’t have to buy a skip permit, plus there’s no need to worry about where your skip will stand.
What waste can you collect?
Our fleet of grab trucks enables us to remove garden and construction waste for homeowners and businesses. Waste we can collect includes inert material like soil, concrete and hardcore, green waste including bushes, trees and grass cuttings, plus horse manure, straw and shavings.
Is there any waste you cannot remove?
We are unable to dispose of chemicals and hazardous substances, paint, or food waste.
How quickly can you collect from my site?
Once you’ve placed an order, we can generally collect your waste within 24 to 48 hours, so you’ll never have to wait too long to clear your site of unwanted material.
How much waste do you recycle?
We are proud to recycle 95% of the material we collect, reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and creating useful materials from what would have been thrown away. We have two recycling centres which enable us to sort, process and recycle material before selling it on as recycled aggregates or recycled soil for your next project.
If you have a question about any of our services, or require our waste removal service in reading or surrounding areas get in touch with our friendly team who will be happy to help.
